BVU was founded to advocate for public safety in our communities. Our goal is to endorse the candidates that have the best interests of the Nassau County communities they serve.
We support candidates who support public safety, including those that support repealing all laws that negatively impact our quality of life.
We created this committee as a voice of the community. After seeing a rise in crime and decline in quality of life, we wanted to ensure that the public is aware of the candidates who support safer neighborhoods.
Jack, as State Senator of New York’s 7th Senate District from 2011 to 2017, led efforts to restore fiscal responsibility and improve governance. He passed a 2% property tax cap, repealed the MTA Payroll Tax, increased state education aid, and helped close a $13 billion budget deficit without raising taxes. His leadership contributed to New York’s economic growth and improved quality of life, earning recognition from both community and business groups.
As State Assemblyman, Michael is delivering results for working-class families by accelerating tax cuts, suspending the gas tax, and providing small business relief. He also supports law enforcement with the “blue alert system,” while addressing infrastructure and environmental issues by increasing funding for road repairs and protecting drinking water.
As Assemblyman, Jake Blumencranz has focused on lowering taxes, reducing government inefficiencies, and protecting taxpayers’ money, while ensuring vital services remain accessible. He has also prioritized public safety, education, environmental conservation, and safeguarding local control and property rights, with a bipartisan approach to solving issues.
