Blue Voices United strongly advocates for Safe Communities and Law Enforcement.

OUR VISION

BVU was founded to advocate for public safety in our communities. Our goal is to endorse the candidates that have the best interests of the Nassau County communities they serve.

WHAT WE DO

We support candidates who support public safety, including those that support repealing all laws that negatively impact our quality of life.

Why We Exist

We created this committee as a voice of the community. After seeing a rise in crime and decline in quality of life, we wanted to ensure that the public is aware of the candidates who support safer neighborhoods.

Good for Law Enforcement, Great for You

Bruce Blakeman

Nassau County Executive

County Executive Blakeman has sworn in over 200 new police officers, added more funds to increase the number of cops on our streets, and broke ground for a new police training village – all without raising taxes. The Nassau County Police Department now has the resources needed to continue fighting back against dangerous ‘criminal first’ policies inflicted by Albany lawmakers. While crime is soaring in New York City, major crime in Nassau County is down thanks to intelligence-led policing strategies and financial investments in police.

SCOTT STRAUSS

Nassau County Legislative District 9

Strauss is a retired Detective from the Emergency Service Unit of the New York City Police Department.  He has received numerous awards for his bravery and service, including the N.Y.P.D.’s Medal for Valor.  On September 11, 2001, Scott was part of a team that risked their lives to rescue two N.Y./N.J. Port Authority Police Officers trapped in the rubble of the World Trade Center. He is also a former Mayor of Mineola, a position he held for 4 terms starting in 2011.

CYNTHIA NUNEZ

Nassau County Legislative District 14

A tireless advocate for her community, Cynthia dedicates countless hours as a trustee of the board of education for Valley Stream District 24, addressing constituent needs, championing educational initiatives, and working to create positive change.
